Single-acting cylinders

When it comes to single-acting and double-acting hydraulic cylinders, they are distinguished by one simple thing: the number of ports. A single-acting hydraulic cylinder is a cylinder that only allows the pressurized fluid to move in one direction.

Pressure is applied in one direction, and when pressure needs to be released the fluid escapes back into the chamber. The drainage process is driven by the weight of the charge or the weight of the piston itself.
